Brigadier (Dr) Deepak Das
Dr Deepak Das is an ex-military professional (retired Brigadier) with extensive experience in consultancy – business strategy (aerospace and defence), leadership, operational management, logistics, procurement and project management – having led defence acquisitions, procurement contracts and negotiation teams and also up to 4500 military personnel in an independent brigade. A strategic planning specialist with a PhD in Business Management he has three decades of experience with the Indian Military and internationally, with the United Nations; the Government of Seychelles’; the European Commission and the European Defence Industrial Development Programme.
He is a Council Member of the Gerson Lehrman Group (NY, USA) and a Member of Talmix Consultancy Group (London, UK) and provides consultancy to various clients in areas of business strategy, technology evaluation, digital marketing and sourcing. He is an active member of SITARA – India’s Science Technology and Research Accelerator, a not-for-profit organisation having an elite representation across government, industry, defence, R&D and technology both within and outside India, which works to synergize the efforts of industry consortiums and government bodies to promote indigenous high technology development in India.
He headed the Faculty of Research and Consultancy at Asia’s leading defence management institution, the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, where he taught research methodology, project management and statistics. He was also the chief editor of the CDM Management Journal and hosted several seminars with the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and international study tours to Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, etc. for senior central government officers. He evolved the Combat Modelling and Simulation Architecture for the Indian Army at the Strategic, Operational and Tactical levels and trained software programmers on military logic for Project ASTROIDS (Army Strategic Operational Information Dissemination System).
As the independent consultant to the Government of Seychelles, he drafted the Seychelles Science Technology and Innovation Strategy and Policy (2016-25), which was approved by the Cabinet with high appreciation. He is currently based in Germany, where he works as an independent Business Strategy and Research Consultant.
His interests include reading, golf and philanthropy.
